The birth of a pillow often begins long before fabric is cut or sewn. It starts with one of my original paintings and some photography, resulting in a usable jpeg. Once that process is complete, fabric can be custom printed from the high resolution image. This creates a unique pattern design that highlights how a single piece of artwork can take on many different lives.

In this photo, you can see how only a small segment of the original painting is used. I carefully photograph the areas that stand out to me. Sometimes it’s either the movement, the shapes, or the color blending that draw my attention. These cropped details become the foundation for the textile patterns. The transformation from painting to pillow shows how art can move beyond the canvas. In doing so, it can become useful in a stylish and functional way.

Some of the original paintings are sold, while others are kept as templates for future design projects. Ultimately, every pillow becomes an artistic accent piece used in modern home decor.
